Keeping kids off the street.
When I was young, any small field and sometimes a not too busy street was transformed into a baseball diamond or football field. We played tag football and wiffleball until it was time to go in and then we would watch the Carroll Burnett Show.
Today I see kids hanging on the corner, aimlessly walking in the street and the crap they watch on TV (MTV and BET don't get me started), setting themselves up for lewd or criminal activity. Many of these children have no choice but to be a product of their environment.
It has been a dream of mine for some years to have a center for these children that will provide not only a safe haven, but to teach computer repair skills. Opening the door for the public to bring in minor repair for a very small fee for the children to repair under the supervision of trained Technichians. Website creation, slideshows, print and design will all be a part of their creative expressions for the public.
A portion of our proceeds go to making this dream a reality. Thank you all for your support.
